Wondering what to do before Shadowlands is released? You aren’t the only one.
With the Shadowlands Beta being accessible, many people are now starting to wonder what content and achievements Blizzard are going to remove with the next expansion and pre-patch. As there is no set date on when Battle for Azeroth is coming to an end, we still have a few months to catch up on anything missed.
This guide will go over content that you should complete before Battle for Azeroth turns into a distant memory. As with every content prune, there are two periods where content either becomes impossible, or inefficient. The first being the pre-patch, and the second being launch of the next expansion.
Table of Contents
Removed in Shadowlands pre-patch (9.0)
Mythic+ Title & Mount

Shadowlands pre-patch will likely stop people being able to unlock the Awakened Mindborer mount, from Battle for Azeroth Keystone Master: Season Four. As well as the %s the Awakened title, which is unlocked by completing all +10s dungeons in time which grants Battle for Azeroth Keystone Conqueror: Season Four. This is done as expansion pre-patches usually make certain classes either too powerful, or nerf them into the ground.
Cutting Edge & Ahead of the Curve

Both raid achievements, Ahead of the Curve: N’Zoth the Corruptor and Cutting Edge: N’Zoth the Corruptor, will not be unlockable when patch 9.0 hits. Mythic N’zoth will present a challenge to the average player up untill Shadowlands, but obtaining a heroic kill should be achievable for most who have been playing most of 8.3.
Spawn of Vexiona will still be available to get until Shadowlands hits though.
Elite PvP Sets

With the end of an expansion, means an end to the current PvP season. Unsuprisingly, once pre-patch hits you will no longer be able to obtain Season 4 PvP Elite sets. These sets look slightly different to their non-elite and PvE counterparts. To unlock the whole set, you just need to obtain 1800 rating.
For the best possible chance to get the required rating, have a look at our arena PvP tier list.
Brawler’s Guild

As with previous expansion ends, the current Brawler’s Guild will close and all associated achievements will be moved to the Legacy tab.
Removed On Shadowlands Release
Ahead of the Curve Mount

We spoke about this briefly earlier, but even though you won’t be able to obtain Ahead of the Curve: N’Zoth the Corruptor and Cutting Edge: N’Zoth the Corruptor when pre-patch hits, Spawn of Vexiona will still drop until the day Shadowlands is released. Spawn of Vexiona starts the quest Lost Flight, which unlocks the Uncorrupted Voidwing mount.
There’s likely going to be a lot of people running heroic N’zoth in a state of panic before the next expansion is released, so it’s best to try and work on this as soon as possible, as raid spots may become harder to get.
Heavily Nerfed In Shadowlands
Available but significantly harder
Mighty Caravan Brutosaur

The infamous long-boi mount Reins of the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur is being removed from the vendor when Shadowlands lands. This incredibly large mount costs 5,000,000 gold and is equipped with an Auction House – which anyone can use, not just the owner.
The mount will then be circulated on the Black Market Auction House, for what we can guess will be absurd amounts of gold. If you really want this mount, you need to start farming straight away! If you’re bad at making gold, we recommend that you check out our raw gold skinning farm guide.
Mythic 100% Drop Rate Mounts

As it tradition, all 100% drop chance mounts from Mythic raids in Battle for Azeroth will be converted to 1% when Shadowlands is upon us.
Glacial Tidestorm drops from Mythic Lady Jaina Proudmoore in Battle of Dazar’alor and Ny’alotha Allseer drops from Mythic N’zoth.
Dungeon and Raid Glories

The dungeon and raid glory meta achievements will be harder to obtain when Shadowlands hits just because there will be a lot less interest in running old content. However, if you do find a few people who are interested in getting the achievements done, technically it will be easier than when they were current content.
We suggest trying to get as many of them done as possible now, while people are still happy to run them.
World PvP achievements

Battle for Azeroth added a few world PvP achievements to the game, which are exclusive to BFA-related zones. Assuming they don’t get removed by Blizzard, these achievements will become more difficult to complete in Shadowlands just due to there being a lack of players in these zones.
Conqueror of Azeroth/Conqueror of Azeroth meta achievement requires several honor and honor kill related achievements to be completed in BFA zones.
The Alliance Slayer/The Horde Slayer requires you to kill 10 members of the opposing faction without dying, after getting a bounty on your head.
Servant of N’Zoth requires 10 kills of your own faction, after killing 10 members of the opposing faction without dying.
Horrific Visions

It’s likely that if you’ve been playing a lot of patch 8.3, that the thought of going out of your way to do more Horrific Visions is laughable. However, some of the harder achievements like Mad World may be removed during Shadowlands. Even if it isn’t, it’s likely that when Battle for Azeroth is over, you will probably never want to set foot in another Horrific Vision again.
