Wondering how Shadowlands class changes will effect your main? You’re not the only one!

With Shadowlands looming around the corner and we tie up loose ends in Battle for Azeroth, the future of our mains can seem daunting. Whether it be worries if the class will still be enjoyable to play in PVE, or if they will be able to stand up and fight during PVP. Every class has had a few significant changes being made, will some abilities being removed, and some of the player favourites making a return.

We will go through each class, listing their changes, and we will continue to add to this list when more information is available. This is just an overview of the major changes classes will undergo, check out our more in depth guides to all changes to classes that have currently been announced. Please note that at this current time this list is not finalised.

All Shadowlands class changes

Death Knight

In Shadowlands Anti-Magic Zone, Chains of Ice, Death and Decay, Lichborne, and Raise Dead will be available for all specs.

Blood

Blood Tap is making a come back and a normal ability.

Rune Tap is no longer a talent.

Frost

Frostwyrm’s Fury is no longer a talent, and is now a standard ability.

Frost Death Knights will be able to choose between a Two-handed weapon, or two One-handed weapons.

Unholy

Army of the Damned has now been combined with Magus of the Dead.

Mastery: Dreadblade now affects minions.

Summon Gargoyle is no longer a talent and is now a standard ability.

Demon Hunter

Fury is now a secondary stat.

Immolation Aura is now available for both specs.

Vengeance

Demonic is now a talent for Vengeance as well.

Fel Devastation is no longer a talent is now a standard ability.

Druid

Barkskin, Cyclone, Ironfur, Ferocious Bite, Stampeding Roar are now available for all specs.

Heart of the Wild is now a talent for all specs.

Balance

Typhoon has now been added to Balance Affinity

Starfire and Wrath will be making a comeback, and will now grant lunar and solar eclipse.

Starfall is returning as its former state as it was in Warlords of Draenor. It is not cast around the druid and prolongs the durations of Moonfire and Sunfire.

Feral

Maim has now been added to Feral Affinity

Guardian

Incapacitating Roar has now been added to Guardian Affinity

Renewal is now a Guardian talent as well.

Restoration

Ursol’s Vortex has now been added to Restoration Affinity.

Nature’s swiftness will return, allowing for instant cast on Entangling Roots, Rebirth, and Regrowth.

Nourish is now a talent.

Swiftmend has returned to its original ability, consuming a HoT to heal its target.

Hunter

Arcane Shot, Eye of the Beast, Hunter’s Mark, Kill Shot, Scare Beast, and Tranquillising Shot are returning and are now available for all specs.

Marksmanship

Volley is now a talent ability

Mage

Arcane Explosion, Fire Blast, and Frostbolt are now available for all specs.

Fire Ward and Frost Ward are returning.

Focus Magic is returning but now as a talent.

Mirror Image is no longer a talent and is now a standard ability.

Arcane

Touch of the Magi is now a standard ability.

Monk

Expel Harm, Fortifying Brew, Spinning Crane Kick, and Touch of Death are now available for all specs.

Touch of Death will now have a different effect based on your spec if the target is killed with less health that the Monk.

Brewmaster

Brewmaster Monks will be able to choose between a Two-handed weapon, or two One-handed weapons.

Invoke Niuzao, the Black Ox is now a standard ability.

Shuffle has returned.

Exploding Keg will now be a talent.

Along with the current changes Touch of Death will now clear remaining Stagger Damage.

Mistweaver

Along with the current changes Touch of Death will now will now spawn healing spheres for party members.

Windwalker

Windwalker Monks will be able to choose between a Two-handed weapon, or two One-handed weapons.

Invoke Xuen, the White Tiger is now a standard ability.

Along with the current changes Touch of Death will now spawn Chi Spheres.

Paladin

Blessing of Sacrifice, Hammer of Wrath, Shield of the Righteous, and Word of Glory will now be available for all specs and are all standard abilities.

Holy power will return for all specs.

Previous Auras are returning and are available for all specs, such as Concentration Aura, Crusader Aura, Devotion Aura, and Retribution Aura.

Sense undead and Turn Evil are returning.

Devine Purpose, Holy Avenger, and Seraphim are available for all Specs.

Holy

Glimmer of Light will now be a Talent.

Aura Mastery will affect all chosen Auras.

Retribution

Wake of Ashes will now be a standard ability

Empyrean Power is now a talent.

Priest

Mind Blast, Shadow Word: Death, and Shadow Word: Pain are now available for all specs.

Mind Soothe and Power Infusion are making a return.

Discipline

Mind Blast now does a lot more damage but with a bigger mana cost.

Holy

Circle of Healing is now a standard ability.

Rogue

Poisons are now available for all specs.

Evasion, Kidney Shot, and Shiv are now available for all specs.

Pick Pocket can now collect ingredients for Crimson Vial.

Assassination

Ambush is now, once again an Assassination ability.

Outlaw

Roll the Bones now longer uses Combo points and its now on a cool down.

Riposte now improves Evasion and has changed to a talent.

Subtlety

Find Weakness is now a standard ability.

Dark Shadow and Shadow Dance have now combined and with an increased cool down.

Rupture is now a standard ability.

Shaman

All specs will now have Chain Heal, Chain Lightning, Flametongue Weapon, Flame Shock, Frost Shock, and Lightning Shield.

Healing Stream Totem and Searing Totem will be returning for all specs.

Maelstrom is no longer a resource.

Enhancement

Maelstrom Weapon and Windfury Weapon are now standard abilities.

Elemental Blast and Stormkeeper are now Talents.

Restoration

Earth Shield is now a standard ability.

Warlock

Curses are returning.

Demonic Circle is now a standard ability.

Warrior

Now available to all classes are Execute, Hamstring, Ignore Pain, Shield Block, Shield Slam, Slam, Spell Reflection, and Whirlwind.

Challenging Shout, Intervene, and Shattering Throw are now all standard abilities.

Double Time and War Machine are now Talents.

Arms

Piercing Howl is now a standard ability.

Seismic Wave and Overpower have now combined and will proc when two targets are hit whilst under the influence of Sweeping Strikes.

Fury

Wrecking Ball is now a talent.

Aether has been playing World of Warcraft since 2006. In his youth he raided 7 days a week, but now just plays with friends doing Mythic dungeons and Arena. He swaps his main more often than he should.
